I have been experimenting with many developers in the past, and in the last few months i have settled for a single formula to develop all my film. The developer concived my Willie Beutler.
It is a accutance first formula, it boosts edge effects and increases precived sharpness all leading to a very unique look.
As most sharpness increasing formulas do, it compreses the midtones a lot, increasing the global contrast. For me personally that is a perfect side effect. For many it may be unwanted but I love my images razor sharp and contrasty
Also of note is the fat that most would disqualify this developer for portrait use. But when used for specific styles of portraiture it actually performs really well, even with all the grain
This image is definitely stylized and pretty unconvetional in terms of the grain and contrast for portraits, but for me in the end it works really well.
